‘Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.’ (Hebrews 10:25 ESV)

If there is a generation that is most guilty of forsaking the assembling together of brethren, I think this generation will be in the forefront. Do you know part of the reasons people feel they have the legitimate right to abandon Church? They include:

· This is the end time, and we now have better knowledge of God.

· The awareness has come and we now have better understanding of the Scripture

· God is not in the building; He lives in our hearts.

· Once saved is forever saved. Not going to Church does not make you unsafe.

· All the clothes I have, people in Church already know them. I’ll start going again after changing my wardrobe.

· Each time I see that Sister A and Bro B, they make me feel uncomfortable.

· I don’t like going to Church without giving an offering, and today, I don’t have much.

· Each time I go to Church, it’s as if I am only person the Pastor has come to attack with his message. The list goes on and on.

The book of Hebrews was written between 1,963 and 1,969 years ago. If the writer admonished the Christians of his time to regularly attend fellowship to encourage one another because the Day was drawing near, how do you describe the nearness of the Day at this time?

Theodore Roosevelt once said, “You may worship God anywhere, at any time, but the chances are that you will not do so unless you have first learned to worship Him somewhere in some particular place, at some particular time.”

Beloved, it does not matter how trivial or logical or mature your expression may sound; the truth is, GOD wants His children to be in constant fellowship. The reason is obvious – the end is near. So, if you genuinely cherish your salvation, I admonish you to steer clear from ‘the habit of some’. As the Day is drawing near, ADHERE TO FELLOWSHIPPING with the brethren for regular encouragement. And I pray we will not miss that glorious end in Jesus Name.
