CREATED FOR FELLOWSHIP

“That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” (1Jn 1:3 KJV)

It is no longer news that God created man for fellowship. In the first book of Moses, Genesis 3:8, the Bible states, “In the cool of the evening, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking around in the garden. So, they hid from the Lord God among the trees in the garden.” (GW)

The understanding here is that Adam and Eve were able to realise that God was walking in the cool of the day because they were most likely used to GOD doing so. GOD did not just create Adam and Eve and then abandon them. Rather, He visited them as a man goes to check on the welfare of his friend.

Such relationship is not surprising. After all, GOD made man in His image. That is who He can relate with: me and you. Jesus related the mind of GOD to us in John 4:23b KJV. He stated that “.... for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” So, GOD continually seeks people who will be in constant fellowship with Him. The irony there is, if man refuses to fellowship with GOD, GOD is not at loss. He will never starve. It is man who will be lost, confused and become vulnerable.

Ask those who the world is looking up to as having made it, majority of them, who will be sincere will tell you that they are unhappy. They enjoy economic security, recreation, pleasure, and a good environment to live in. Yet all these will not bring happiness; no satisfaction. The reason is that man was created in the image of God and cannot find complete rest, happiness, joy, and peace until he comes back to God.

Beloved, anything that wants to take the place of your fellowship with GOD is a robber of destiny. Without mincing words, you are created for fellowship. And as you earnestly seek sincere fellowship with your Maker, I see you blossom in joy, happiness, satisfaction, and peace of mind in Jesus’ Name.
