GET OUT OF SELF!

“And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. (1Co 3:1 KJV)
It is unimaginable that a lot of people who profess to be Christians today have little or no fruit to show for it. Jesus said, "Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." (Mat 7:20 KJV)
Christianity has identity. But in the lives of the majority in Christendom today, there is an absolute denial of the true nature of Christianity.
Yes, they confessed Jesus as their LORD and Saviour, but they have never reached spiritual maturity. They were born, raised and lived in church all their lives; yet, they have never become mature Christians. They thought it is still in line if they continue to live in their ‘old self'. So, they remain babies.
The joy of any parent is to watch their children grow into maturity. No parent prays for their children to remain babies forever. Unfortunately, this category of Christians can best be referred to as 'Infants in Christ!' They are people under the influence of fleshly appetites; coveting and living for the things of this life. They are children in understanding, knowledge, and experience of spiritual matters. And they are unskilful in the word of righteousness.
Sad still, due to the number of years they have been known amongst brethren, the Church falls back on them for contingency plans to rescue others. What a disaster! Babies appointed as rescuers?! No desire to pray, no desire to read the WORD of God; even when they are saddled with the responsibility of rendering their service to God, it is only 'when it is convenient!'
Disastrous as this may sound, it is because they have no desire to get out of self; forgetting that ".... if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2Co 5:17 KJV)
Beloved, if you feel challenged, it is not time to throw in the towel, but the time to desire to humble yourself before your Maker and cry out unto Him for the empowerment to go out of self. Self is designated to impede your spiritual growth. So, Get Out Of Self. Shalom.
