ILLOGICAL! BUT IT’S GOD’S WAY!

“And .... he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.” (2Ch 20:21 KJV)
In the previous chapter, returning from the battle at Ramothgilead, a prophet met with Jehoshaphat and reproved him for helping the ungodly. As a result, Jehoshaphat ventured into a great religious reformation. He set everything right and charged everyone to perform their duties faithfully. When such ruthless steps were taken, you expect peace to follow. But in the succeeding chapter, Moabites, Ammonites, and some of the Meunites came to wage war.
Jehoshaphat was petrified. Yet, he summoned courage and cried to GOD who he just defended His course to help him. But the response from GOD may be disappointing – to gather singers and instrumentalists.
I could imagine some people thinking, ‘Jehoshaphat must be out of touch with reality. Which God will instruct you to go to war with musicians!? Don’t you know that you’ll only need them if you conquer!?’
As logical as their perceived thoughts may be, what GOD wanted was unconfusing – Get me musicians to sing My praise.
So, “.... Jehoshaphat appointed a choir for God; dressed in holy robes, they were to march ahead of the army, singing, Praise the LORD; for His mercy endureth for ever.” (2 Chro 20:21 MSG)
The reason why GOD chose that path was revealed in verse 15; “.... for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” Hallelujah!
Beloved, for you to attend the Prophetic Worship of this quarter is not an accident; it is divinely orchestrated by your Maker. And no matter the nature of your challenge, I admonish you to praise Him with a heart of gratitude. As you do, I see mountains bow before you. I see lines fall in pleasant places with you. And I see you being catapulted to fulfilment in Jesus’ Name. AMEN! But let this resonate with you: it may appear ILLOGICAL, BUT IT’S GOD’S WAY!
