THE DAY OF THE LORD!
APRIL
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
(Psalm 118:24 KJV)
As if it were a new day, made for this very occasion; a day which was not expected but created out of the ordinary, and added to the other days, the writer of this psalm sang his thanks to God and the congregation responded with praise.
But, according to John 1 verse 3, “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” All things include all days – any of the seven days of the week, Sunday to Saturday. That means, all days belong to God! Now, if all days are meant to be the Lord’s, why do we have the phrase, ‘the Day of the LORD’ written repeatedly throughout the Bible, as if other days don’t belong or matter to Him?
According to AI, the Day of the Lord is ‘a period when God intervenes directly in history to punish evil, judge nations, and establish His reign, often associated with the end times and the second coming of Jesus.’
The understanding is, man has chosen to go his own way, contrary to what GOD originally intended. Man has customized the days available unto him for his sordid gain and pursue folly. Man has considered the days his personal property. He chose to disobey God and ignore His ways. He said to God’s face that He did not create him or the planet he lives in. In fact, as the will of man runs riot in the earth, these days can best be referred to as ‘the days of man.’
But a day is coming, known as ‘the Day of the Lord.’ It’s going to be a day of fear and of justice. Then, your opinion will not matter; only the counsel of the LORD will. What you make of ‘the days of man’ will determine your lot in ‘the Day of the LORD.’
Today, you have the free will to choose. Do not follow the multitude on the wrong path. The One who created All things owns All things, including the days. Those who embrace this truth will not be disappointed on The Day of the LORD. In the midst of hopelessness, they will find hope! So, while we wait for “The Day of the LORD”, CONSIDER ALL DAYS AS THE LORD’S. Shalom!
