CHILDREN ARE A HERITAGE
“Lo, children are a heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” (Psalm 127:3 KJV)
The Apostle James told us that, “Every good gift and every perfect gift comes to us from God. He is the best Father. He is like a strong light that sends away all shadows. He does not change.” (James 1:17 EasyEnglish)
God has given us beautiful things, including food, clothes, peace, joy, fresh air, safety, animals, plants, and other things. But out of the good things that we receive from God, children occupy a special position. How important they are in the plan of God cannot be compared to anything. That is why the Bible says that Children are God’s heritage.
According to Psalm 127:3, “Children are a heritage of the LORD.” Being God’s heritage means children are special and valuable gifts that you can pass from age to age and yet retain the nature of God. If they are meant to be passed from age to age and retain the nature of God, they must be well taught in the way of God, so that they would remain relevant in the original plan of God. Children do not come by the power of nature or by agreement between mum and dad; they come only by God. And it is a sign that God is happy with us and believes that we will value them more than silver and gold and teach in His Way. So, if parents do less, they have failed in the plan of God. May our parents not fail in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
As a child, you are not on Earth by accident. God decided to have you here so that you will be valued more than silver and gold and walk in His Way. GOD is expecting you to make Him happy at all times as His own heritage. I pray that God will give every child the power to make God happy at all times in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
For those who desire to have their own children and yet trusting God, God did not love you less. As those who already have their children are precious to God, so you are. I decree that this is your season of celebration. By this time next year, your own God-given children will be amongst us in JESUS’ Name. AMEN.
HAPPY CHILDREN’S DAY
A Childlike Attitude
"And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children...." (Mat 18:2-3 KJV)
Children are transparent. They are honest and adorable. Innocent as they are, there's a lot to learn from them. They pay attention to details.
Ask a toddler to pray. He or she will thank God for some specific things. You may hear things like, "O Lord God, I thank You for my bicycle. Thank You Lord for the new clothes my Mum just bought for me. Thank You Lord for the new shoes Aunty Ade bought for me. Thank You Lord for the chocolate my dad promised to buy today. Thank You Lord for Abigail, my sister. Thank You Lord for Joe, my brother. Thank You Lord for the new baby in my Mummy's tummy. Thank You Lord for the film we watched yesterday. Thank You Lord for Uncle Andy. Thank You Lord for Aunty Mojo. Thank You Lord for my Sunday School teacher.” And on and on.
It will sound funny to an adult. In fact, an adult may consider it as an immature way of praying. But do you know what? That is an expression of a grateful heart. This is the type of attitude GOD expects from us. As adults, we want to thank GOD for "those big things" – cherry picking. Once "those big things" have been exhausted, we're probably left with nothing. By this, we technically miss out on the real essence of thanksgiving and turn out to be ingrates. Everything you receive from God is worth thanking Him for. That which you overlook and consider inconsequential is what others are searching for, even with tears. Think about that!
The Apostle Paul admonished Ephesians brethren;
"Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Ephesians 5:20 KJV)
Take note of that. This is the attitude of children – “giving thanks always for all things". No wonder Jesus remarked, ".... Verily I say unto you, except ye be converted, and become as little children....". Brethren, adopt a CHILDLIKE ATTITUDE in thanking GOD. Nothing is too big to mention, and nothing is too small to overlook in Thanksgiving. Everything you receive from GOD is worth celebrating. Adopt a childlike attitude!
OVERFLOWING WISDOM
“But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.” (1Cor 1:24 NET)
Another way to explain the last phrase of the Scripture above is Jesus is an embodiment of God’s wisdom. The wisdom of God personified.
On the night of His resurrection, Jesus appeared suddenly unto His disciples. All were in attendance except Thomas. Since he was not present when Jesus first appeared to them, Thomas made it abundantly clear that he would never believe that Jesus resurrected.
Eight days later, Jesus appeared unto them again whilst Thomas was present. When Thomas saw Jesus, he believed and exclaimed, “My Lord and my God!” Then, Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:29 ESV)
Perhaps there was no reason why it should take that long for Thomas to believe! Before crucifixion, Thomas was close to Jesus. He benefited from the series of His teachings. He witnessed Him perform several miracles with infallible proofs. He, as well, had ample chance to ask Him questions about those things he was not sure of. Yet, he doubted His ability to resurrect as He promised.
I am sure none of us ever saw Jesus physically. Yet, we believed. Jesus stated, “.... Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” What a great honour to be blessed by Jesus Christ, the Wisdom of God!
Beloved, it is what you have that you can give. The Bible says, “For from His fullness we all received....” (John 1:16) Now that you are privileged to believe the Wisdom of God, can anything prevent you from receiving an Overflowing Wisdom this season? Absolutely not. So, receive your own portion of Overflowing Wisdom now in Jesus Name. AMEN.
HE ENLISTED YOU AND I
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 KJV)
Imagine that expression! It is universal. God did not intend to exclude anyone. The expression extends to the most ignorant and the very worst in all continents on the Earth! He sent His only begotten Son to save the world from its doomed state and reconcile her to Himself.
The world population as of 2023 was 8 billion. For the greatness of God, saving the entire 8 billion would not cause Him a headache. He is more than enough. But can you imagine the percentage that would be saved out of that 8 billion!
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6 NKJV
Think of the many who have vowed not to have anything to do with Jesus, the Way! Think of the many who are burdened with the load of sin and religion, who would not come to the knowledge of the Truth! Think of those who actually acknowledge Him as one of the prophets but not the Only Way! Think of those who have been wrongly indoctrinated to reject Him. Think of those who are not privileged to hear the Truth about Him! Out of the 8 billion, what percentage do you think is on the way to the Father?!
Apparently, the percentage is ridiculously small. No wonder, Jesus lamented, "How narrow is the gate and how constricted is the road that leads to life, and there aren’t many people who find it!” Mat 7:14 ISV
However, no matter the small percentage that is on the way to life, I am glad that He has enlisted you and I. Most incredibly, the Bible says,
“For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Eph 2:8-9 AKJV
So, on a day like this, I encourage you to thank Him like never before because He enlisted you and I.
Experiencing the TRUE GOD.
