A Timely Intervention
".... Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love: therefore, with loving kindness have I drawn you." Jer 31:3 AKJV

Some years ago, the British went to India for trade and to establish colonies. They also wanted to spread Christianity throughout the country. From 1757, Britain increased its control of India through the East India Company. From 1858 onwards, the British government directly ruled India, and it became known as the British Raj.

Around this time, the Governor of Calcutta was walking along the seashore, he saw a young Bengali woman intending to commit suicide by jumping into the sea. He enquired why she wanted to commit such an act. The young woman explained, “My husband just died. I am a young widow. We have a custom here, when the husband dies, his wife has to jump into the fire. But I don’t want to follow that tradition. That’s why I have chosen this path.”

The Governor pondered, ‘what type of tradition would encourage ending the life of a young and beautiful lady who just got widowed?! Is this not double tragedy?!’ He asked her, “Woman, will you marry me?” Amazed, but without hesitation, she consented. Within the shortest possible time, the British Governor got married to her. The widow who was about to end her life became a brand-new bride because of the Governor's Timely Intervention. The Governor’s choice overruled the barbaric custom over her. They had four beautiful children and lived together happily as husband and wife.

Beloved, you may be close to depression. You may be close to shame. You may be close to ending it altogether. I see your God intervene timely. God brought you to this season to Arise and Shine. Any ungodly event waiting to unfold shall not occur. Traditions of men projected to drag you down are shattered. You are not a subject for depression. Traditions of men that are designed to terminate your life are terminated in Jesus' Name. The Governor's love engendered a Timely Intervention that earned the lady a new lease of life. Your Creator said, ".... Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love: therefore, with loving kindness have I drawn you." Jer 31:3, AKJV

For His love, His Timely Intervention in your case will give you a new lease of life. He will wipe your tears away and turn your mourning into dancing. Do not fret; God will give you a Timely Intervention, and you will Arise and Shine in Jesus’ Name. AMEN! Shalom.

HE CARES FOR YOU! (2)

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” (1Peter 5:7 KJV)

This epistle of Apostle Peter was addressed to the churches in provinces located in modern-day Turkey, which were part of the Roman Empire. After their conversion, due to persecution, these Jews were scattered all over. To state the least, it was absolutely logical to be concerned if it was still sensible to trust God, who allowed them to be persecuted in the first place.

It was in the midst of this experience that the apostle admonished them to cast their burden upon God because He cares for them. How logical does this appear?

Do you realise that care or worry is a waste of time? Jesus said that you cannot add one cubit to your stature by being anxious. (Matt 6:27). So, why worry? Many people get so worried about everything that they forget to do the right things. Sufficient unto each day are the troubles; hence, face today’s issues rather than worry about what is past that you cannot remedy, or about tomorrow that you do not have control over. Worry weakens. It is a robber of joy. Rather than worrying, trust God with every bit of your affairs.

What is the cause of your worry; to make ends meet? You are of age and trusting God for your own home? Peace of mind over your Children? You want a new job? You’re trusting God for promotion? You have done all and yet it appears you’ve done nothing? Are those you trusted most the main antagonists? Your walls are collapsing contrary to your expectations? Whatever the source of your anxiety may be, be admonished that whatsoever is placed in God’s hand will always end well.

Beloved, worrying will guarantee no solution. The Bible says, “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” (Rom 8:32 KJV) Think about that!

So, cast all your cares on Him, for HE CARES FOR YOU.

I prophesy, for every challenge you face, I see you receive double honour and permanently be victorious in Jesus Name. AMEN.

HE CARES FOR YOU!

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” (1Peter 5:7 KJV)

Not long ago, I took my daughter to school. I needed to go to work immediately after. But we left home late, so, I was in a hurry. At her school, as she got out of the car, she crossed to the other side of the road, passing in front of the car. Although in a hurry, I waited there on the spot, watching as she passed with no sense of urgency. She really took her time.

Many questions ran through my mind as I remained in that spot and watched her pass. What kept me glued to that spot? My daughter knew I was in a hurry. I expected her to allow me to go first, or she would pass behind the car. But she chose to pass in front of the car with a full sense of security. “What was she thinking?” I pondered. Unfortunately, my daughter did not notice that I was watching her. She just crossed and went on. I was supposed to be angry with her, or at least scold her for her choice, but I never did. In fact, God taught me a vital lesson that day.

As I was in that spot, I could read through her mind thinking, "No matter how much he might be in a hurry, he is my dad, after all. I am so precious to him. He would not do anything to jeopardise my safety. Rather than hitting me, he would be patient and prioritise my well-being above all else." I tried to probe further within me: "Could she do that if it were a stranger behind the wheel?" The answer that I got was quick, firm, and unconfusing: 'No, she wouldn't trust a stranger to that extent.' Slowly, I drove off that spot, and patiently pondering on the lesson God wanted me to learn.

Beloved, why do we find it so hard to trust God in every circumstance? Jesus said that "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it...." Mat 16:25. Remember that there is nothing about your life that is hidden from God. Despite the knowledge of you that He has, including your strengths and weaknesses, abilities and inabilities, wants, needs, and frailty, He chose to be a Father to you, even before you knew Him as your Father. So, it is God’s preoccupation to prioritise your well-being above all else. Don't let the enemy steal your peace. You are precious to Him. So, cast all your cares on Him because HE CARES FOR YOU! AMEN!

IF IT HAD NOT BEEN THE LORD….!

“If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say” (Psalm 124:1 KJV)

When I was much younger, I loved to travel a lot. Whenever I travelled, my preference was to sit next to the driver so that I could watch and learn how they drove. By and large, I typically learned to drive by observing.

I got my first car in 1999. For the joy of acquiring a new car and the curiosity of being behind the wheel, I embarked on a journey from Lagos to Ibadan, an 80.6-mile drive on the motorway. About two miles to the toll gate in Ibadan, there was a car before me. The car was so sound and moving at a high speed. The speed of the car wouldn’t matter; all I wanted was to overtake, and I did. To me, it was an adventure, anyway. But I was able to overtake because the driver intentionally avoided competition.

Shortly after I overtook, the driver overtook again and waited for me at the toll gate. When I got to the toll gate, he approached and told me politely that he avoided competing because it could lead to an accident. He advised me to desist from such driving style. More so, my car could not stand beside his in any way. I knew I was wrong; so, I sincerely apologised.

Two days later I drove back to Lagos. Due to what I noticed with the car, I went to the mechanic and complained that the car was jerky when on high speed. When the mechanic checked, what he discovered was incredible! He was motionless. He stared at me for a long time. Eventually he queried: “Sir, how did you drive here?” I was confused with his question. Shaking his head and then, nodded, he remarked, “Undoubtedly, God loves you.”

What did the mechanic see? Behold, the mechanic unscrewed the propeller shaft with his bare hand! Imagine what could happen if the propeller had removed at top speed! If it had not been the LORD….!

Beloved, I just told my own story. You may have a similar or a scarier story. I encourage you to think deeply and use the occasion of today to give uncommon worship to God, knowing that If It Had Not Been The LORD Who Was On Your Side, apparently, it would have been a different story.

Experiencing the TRUE GOD.
