THE SONG FREEDOM!

“How shall we sing the LORD'S song in a strange land?" (Psalm 137:4 KJV)

It’s no longer news that 2026 was declared a year of FREEDOM. Although 2026 is declared a year of freedom, you might struggle to believe it based on your circumstances. People may struggle to accept such declaration due to three perspectives:

· Your own view: Comparing yourself to others (limitations).

· Others’ views: Opinions based on stereotypes or past encounters.

· God’s view: The accurate truth (e.g., calling Gideon a “mighty man of valour” despite his fear).

The first category, 'who they think they are' is often fed by what I see in other people. The thoughts may include I can pray like so and so, I'm hardworking like .... I can solve mathematical problems like .... I am as responsible as .... I have the gift of prophecy like .... But none of these expressions can describe you because God made you 'uniquely you'.

The second category, 'who people think they are' usually goes by people's opinion. This may be sentimental, based on people’s preference and selfishness. It may result from a one-off encounter or an impression made over a period of time. Now, will that give an accurate description of you?

The third category, 'who God says you are' is the most accurate but often times, obscure, and escapes our perception of ourselves. While Gideon still saw himself and his tribe as miserable losers, "And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour." (Judges 6:12 KJV)

Beloved, it doesn't matter what you think, neither is it relevant what people think about you; the key message to you and I this year is, IT IS OUR YEAR OF FREEDOM. JESUS said, "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." (Joh 8:36 KJV) May you catch the vision, and may you run with it. Henceforth, the thoughts of FREEDOM will flood your heart, and the songs of FREEDOM will flow ceaselessly from your mouth in JESUS' Name. AMEN!
