WHAT IS YOUR TESTIMONY?
JANUARY
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” (Rev 12:11, KJV)
To start with, a testimony is an evidence or proof of something. So, the title can be re-presented as, “What is your proof?” Or, “What is your evidence?” I am sure that those who go to Church, those who pray for themselves and pray for others, those who preach, those who are leaders of various departments of various ministries, and those who are full of Christian clichés would be thought to tick all the boxes.
But Evangelist Billy Graham opined that our generation is undoubtedly versed in Christian terminology but remiss in the actual practice of Christ’s principles and teachings. He boldly declared, “Our greatest need today is not more Christianity but more true Christians.” According to him, “The world can argue against Christianity as an institution, but there is no convincing argument against a person who, through the Spirit of God, has been made Christlike.” Think about that!
Beloved, the disciples were called Christians, not because they asked for it, but because they deserved it. Some qualities qualified them for it. These include:
· They were consecrated to Christ.
· They always spoke about Christ.
· They relentlessly sought to secure disciples for Christ.
I want you to consider these three qualities, at least, and be challenged to develop the right mindset towards GOD and His course.
This is not the year of FREEDOM to laziness, neither is it a year to flimsy excuses. It is not a year of Freedom to irresponsibility either. Rather, it is a year of FREEDOM to consecrate yourself to GOD, to always think and speak about Christ, and relentlessly secure disciples for Jesus. As you pursue this, I see the blessings that follow quality service manifest in your life. That is your lot in Jesus’ Name. Again, I ask, “What Is Your Testimony?”
